Tasting With Early Mountain Vineyards

As we get ready to launch our new wine and food menus for this season, join us for a special night of tasting and pairing - featuring Early Mountain Vineyards from Virginia! The event is for one night only on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 5Pm to 10PM.  Please email for reservations.  Walk-ins welcome.

About Early Mountain:  Located in Madison, Virginia, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Early Mountain Vineyards comprises more than 300 acres of the historic Monticello Wine Trail. With an almost stubborn respect for the vineyard - doing all we can to act as honest messengers of what our terroir gives us – Early Mountain’s mission is to craft high-quality wines while also supporting Virginia’s ascent as a world-class wine region.

 We will be pouring:

·         2014 Rosé - A dedicated Rosé of primarily Merlot and Malbec. Fresh apple, stone fruit, and honeysuckle add complexity to strawberry and watermelon notes found on the nose. Whole-cluster pressed and cold fermented in stainless tanks, this dry Rosé quenches while providing enough structure to allow for a wide range for pairing. 640 cases produced.

·         2013 Chardonnay Reserve - For the 2013 vintage, the Chardonnay was blended at the press with 15% Petit Manseng clusters to bring additional vibrancy to the wine’s acid and aromatic profiles. Under a watchful eye, nature took its course in barrel by way of native yeast.

Aged sur-lie for 9 months in French oak following primary fermentation, the wine underwent full malolactic fermentation, and displays beautiful integration of the nearly 63% new oak selection. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. 199 cases produced.

 ·         2013 Foothills Red Blend - A medium-bodied blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2013 Foothills is an elegant expression of the vineyard sites it originated from on the north-west side of the property. Light cedar notes from the oak underlie red berry and thyme aromas, while the wine’s lively acidity is complemented nicely on the palate by soft, mouth-coating tannins and finish. 438 cases produced.

Flight of Early Mountain wines - $18

Optional food pairing - $18

House-made crostini topped with a decadent triple cream from France and topped with a slice of honey comb; Olive oil pasta tossed with burrata, heirloom tomatoes, and fresh mint; and an Italian meatball with red sauce.
